5 ways to wear sneakers

Someone asked me if I ever wear sneakers and how I wear them.

So here are my favorite 5 way's of styling my kicks;

1) With Mini A-line Skirts
A fluttery mini skirt and a tucked in T-shirt give a more girly or retro look, depending if you wear it with a funky over the top skirt like the tutu or a (ditsy floral printed) "vintage look" skirt. My rule for going crazy with the fluffy tutu's and sneakers? I keep my hair and make-up natural and don't wear any jewelry with it.

2) With Boy friend jeans
Sneakers go so well with boyfriend jeans, my rule for not looking like a boy? I always wear a fitted/tight top with it to give the whole look some feminine curves.

3) With above the knee Dresses
All dresses go with sneakers period. I mostly wear vintage dresses just above the knee as well as more girly romantic dresses, and I just love to wear the sneakers with socks of course. (like seen here)

4) With Leggings
I love the simplicity of leggings with sneakers, I mostly wear them with a loose fitted tee or sweater and love to top of the look with a blazer.(seen here)

5) With Maxi skirts and dresses
I often wear my sneakers under a maxi skirt or dress with a big sweater, very laid-back and "Olson" layered. Big sunnies and a big hobo bag almost a must ;)

Navy Blue and Brown

Steve Madden Boots, Navy/Royal blue Nylons

The Navy/Royal blue sheer tights are a nice replacement for black nylons, it really ads something different to a look. The tights are actually more of a Royal Blue but on the skin they look like a Navy (but still give a very blue shine) Besides giving a new oomph to the usual outfits with nylons these go beautiful with brown, golden and copper outfits!

SHOPPING: Cut Out Lace-up Boots

Miista Zelda at Spanish Moss(USA) and Freepeople(USA) or Miista(Europe/UK)

Perfect boots. Besides the lace-up and cut out details these boots have a very good height/length on the leg!

Normally boots are less high and more bulky, these boots have beautiful proportions making them look beautiful with dresses, skirts and leggings and edgy, or sophisticated by the way you style them.

SHOPPING: Winter Coats

Now that I look at it, this post is looking quite dark and muddy but my picks for Winter Coats are not random haha..

The thing is winter coats are the most annoying thing in my wardrobe, most of the year they are simply pissing me off by taking in so much space and there is only so much what you can store. So I rather have 1 or 2 perfect coats that last me years.

So my search for a new winter coat has begun. Normally I don't care if a item is practical but when it comes to coats just a few things need to be right:

The material needs to be wool, (like a hairy wool or boucle), the color needs to be Black or a very inky Navy Blue, needs to have good pockets, needs to close properly, the length should be upper mid-thigh, needs full length sleeves, needs to be warm.

This far I really like the Marc by Marc Jacobs coat and the silhouettes of the Isabel Marant coats the best. For sleek designs and tweed and twill like textures I will try my luck with the Zara, and for those who are drooling like me over the Burberry Prorsum Cape try your luck at Storets with this $92 look-a-like!

1) Marc by Marc Jacobs ink blue bouclé coat $359
2) Étoile Isabel Marant XITY ALPACA WOOL Coat €459.00

3) James Lakeland "Chanel Jacket" £158.90
4) Étoile Isabel Marant Xabi Coat $570.00
5) IRO Ancilia wool collarless coat €471.00
7) Theyskens theory Fleck wool coat €1,057.00

I'm wearing these new babies non stop! They go so well with above the knee a-line mini dresses (yes, very 60's) Make me feel like Twiggy!

I didn't see them in the Zara store itself only online but that maybe depends per City, no?

this weeks shopping

I bought some magazines at the airport when flying back to Europe; the French Vogue, Vanity Fair, Allure and New York magazine. Really can't live without these!

Bought the Prada infusion d'iris eau de parfum at the Bijenkorf's "drie dwazen dagen" today (since it's on special discount today only...swoon..) I truly adore this scent but I don't think its for everyone, I would describe the scent as a powdery floral.

I was lucky enough to come home to 3 packages, one of which a big box from Lucette!! One of the goodies inside were these open toe brogues made out of leather and suede.. Seriously, these are genius and have a beautiful fit, they are both perfect for hipster as well as very tailored looks with and without socks, I can't believe I didn't think of open toe brogues before!!
