Summer in Philly

Well summer is in full swing and let me tell you, it sure is a hot
one here in Philadelphia! I seriously thought I was getting away from
the heat but boy was I wrong. Obviously in weather like this all I want
to do is throw on something light that won't be a bother. Dresses and
skirts are just the way to go.

Anyways I just love this area of the city.
It is called Washington Square and it is surrounded with beautiful historic
homes that I find to be fascinating. I could wonder these streets all day
just in awe. There are so many other places in the city I want to adventure
to. I will have the time now because I already have found a new place! I actually
got to go see it this time and there is also a cat who resides there. Two good things.

Also... today is the first day of my internship! Wish me luck ;)

Hello Philadelphia!

Greetings from Philadelphia! Let me just say I already love this

city. We all know I love vintage clothing so naturally I would love a super

old city. The buildings are just so beautiful and in this particular street they

were charming as well. Anyways, my first day in the city was pretty crazy.

Basically I had an awful experience with the apartment I had so I am

on the search again. I was freaking out a bit yesterday but I think I woke up

on the right side of the bed today and I am staying positive. I met up with Dylana

from Color Me Nana yesterday for a bit and she was sooo sweet! She showed me around a few

lovely neighborhoods and kind of gave me piece of mind for my apartmentsearch.

Totally thankful for that and can't wait to hang out with this girl more!



PS- my relationship with heels might as well be over. With all the walking I'm going

to be doing in this city it will be super difficult. But I'd totally take walking everywhere

than driving in heels any day. I'll get used to it though :)

Shorts Obsession

If there is one thing that catches my eye it is quirky little details. Whether it be
interesting buttons or tiny bows, I am just a sucker for 'em! So naturally I have
become super obsessed with these Romwe shorts! First of all the color is so much
fun for summer. The bright shade of blue/green totally brightens up my day.
And secondly I love that they are totally 1960's inspired. I paired it with this
pale pink top for a fresh and summery look. Yet another piece with another detail
I love-a scalloped trim! The last photo is another way that I styled it the other day.

Anyway for those of you who do not know, I have not made it to Philly yet! The
Dallas airport I was flying out of apparently had damage from the tornadoes/storms.
Several flights were delayed at DFW so my flight got pushed back to tomorrow, Saturday
morning. I was a little bummed, I'll admit, but I am just thankful that my friends, family
and I were safe from all of the crazy storms that have hit the south/Midwest lately.
When I think about the terrible hardships that Joplin and other cities are facing
right now, I cannot complain one bit. My heart goes out to all of those who got
affected by the tornadoes.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Friday. My next post will most definitely
be straight from Philly!! I have a few girls that I just cannot wait to meet up with-
Dylana from Color Me Nana, Veronika from Tick Tock Vintage, and Kim
from eat.sleep.wear. These bloggers have made me super excited for my new
adventures in the city. Lots of updates to come!

Under the Texas Sun

Well, this is probably going to be the last of nature-y photos you will be seeing
on this blog for a while! I may throw in a few photos from home that I have yet
to put up yet, but get ready for a city scene back drop from now on! Before I left
Texas, I wanted to get in a few photos with the beautiful wild flowers. They are
seriously everywhere this year. I love that the city lets them grow as they please.
As for this Chicwish dress, let me just tell you, I feel like a little fairy princess in it!
And who wouldn't want that? I paired it with some ankle boots to toughen it up just
a tad since it is so over-the-top girly, and I think I liked the turn out. The tiers
and tiny pleats pleats seriously won my heart.

Gotta keep this post short and sweet because it is my last day in Texas!! I arrive
in Philly bright and early tomorrow so expect a blog update in a few days
from the city.
