Scarf Saturday

I posted on Snoozer Loser before, but it's been more than a year since then and their f/w 2011 scarves are too good to not share. Snoozer Loser is an eco-conscious brand based out of New York using organic cotton, vintage fabrics, and manufacturing all of the pieces locally. The scarves are handpainted with eco-friendly pigments and feature the most delightful patterns--from antique scissors to folksy unicorns. Their quirky without being overdone and come in a variety of colors that will blend seemlessly with your winter wardrobe.

For this Scarf Saturday I thought I'd present you with something different...feral sweater boys (who are also wearing scarves). All credit goes to the hilarious Noelle Stevenson of Ginger Haze, a delightful blog full of her comics and general enthusiasm. I would like to stumble across one of these feral sweater boys in the woods one day, but ironically I think they're more common in city setting.

For this Scarf Saturday I asked the lovely Ashley of Fancy Fine to put together some fall appropriate collages featuring scarves. I'm a big fan of Ashley's vintage style and interesting color combinations; in reading her blog I've also come to enjoy her collaging skills. All of her sets feature the perfect balance of classic pieces and whimsy--always outfits I would die to wear.

Overall I prefer chunky, cozy scarves, but I do admire the patterns and pictures you find on some of the fancier ones. These scarves by Age of Reason are 100% silk and feature the most cheeky designs. There's clearly Hermes inspiration lurking in these, but with a twist in subject matter--classic chain designs are morphed into handcuffs and even sweet Russian nesting dolls get a makeover. My favorite design is the punk pug...styled on a pug no less.
